CLASP, the CUNY League of Active Speech Professors, was in need of a poster & brochure for promotional uses during their 7th Annual Colloquium. The theme for their event was The Umbrella Discipline. Their concept was basically in need of a graphically communicated approach and this was how I approached that problem.
I wanted to intrigue the eye of its viewers in a way that gave the printed materials a sense of mystery and adventure at close range. From afar it looks like an almost normal umbrella with rain, but upon close inspection, the rain is actually a visual representation of the faculty involved in and attending this event.
